Jannatul Baqi
Medina, located in Saudi Arabia’s Hejazi region and revered as one of the holiest sites for Muslims worldwide, boasts many attractions that draw in visitors as a tourist destination. Medina boasts several mosques such as Al-Masjid an-Nabawi.
Medina’s Jannatul Baqi or Garden of Heaven cemetery is another major draw. Here lies many of Muhammad’s companions and relatives buried.
It also holds some of the Prophet Muhammad’s close family members, including Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib and Khadijah as well as Fatima bint Muhammad and Zainul Abideen.
This cemetery is considered one of two most sacred in Islam. As per tradition, Muhammad issued prayers every time he passed by it.
